The Harlow Family Branch of the Halhed Family Tree

This page provides a starting place to access the Harlow branch of the Halhed family tree. This rather short branch branch of our tree extends back to mid-1800's England. The first difficulties we encountered with the Harlow family were those of common given and family names, and no place more specific than England in the many of the records.

More investigation introduced a real conundrum: an entry on the Death Certificate for Charles William Harlow in 1946 gives his father's name as John Wolley, born in England. So is this really meant to be a Wolley family branch instead of Harlow? But then, where did the Harlow name start from?

But wait! There's more for my grandfather, Charles William Harlow:

  ♦   His birth place is given as Wigan, Lancs., England on his marriage registration.
  ♦   His birth place is given as Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England on his army enlistment papers.
  ♦   His birth place is given as Portugal in his obituary.
  ♦   His birth place is given as Ontario in 1906 Canada (Alberta) census.

And his mother's maiden name might be Blant or Blunt...
